The first edition of the Revista Latino-Americana de Criminologia (RELAC) has just been published. This journal is intended to be one of the most important scientific outlets for the dissemination of research in the field of criminology, criminal justice, and social control in the region. This first volume has a dossier on “Power and control technologies in the information society”, as well as separate articles. This first issue also features the translation into Portuguese of David Garland’s Concepts of Culture in the Sociology of Punishment.
